Activated attapulgite

Indications/Uses

Symptoms of diarrhea due to food poisoning & toxin from bacteria & viruses.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & childn ≥12 yr 2 tab after every bowel movement w/ max 12 tab w/in 24 hr, 6-12 yr 1 tab after every bowel movement, w/ max 6 tab w/in 24 hr.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Severe renal or hepatic failure.

Special Precautions

Hypersensitivity. Bronchial asthma. Intestinal obstruction. Prostatic hypertrophy. Renal impairment.

Drug Interactions

Diminishes action of ipecac & other emetics. Oral hypoglycaemics, anticoagulant. Vit K antagonists. PABA. Procaine. May potentiate anticholinergic effects of antihistamine, antidepressants, antipsychotics, antiparkinsonian drugs.
